Bob Lowerre, AIF®
PORTFOLIO MANAGER
PORTFOLIO MANAGER
Bob Lowerre, AIF®, joined Willis Johnson Wealth in January 2005 as one of six employees. Today, as Portfolio Manager, Bob directs the model trades placed in client accounts, helps advisors address more complex investment questions, and writes client correspondence that explains the reasoning behind portfolio decisions in everyday terms.
Bob entered the financial services industry in 2000 with a clear belief that still guides his work today: to be a faithful steward of client money to the best of his ability. That sense of responsibility shapes the way he approaches investment research, portfolio recommendations, and communication with both clients and advisors. He values independent thinking, disciplined research, and the ability to challenge assumptions while staying grounded in long-term investment principles.
In his role, Bob oversees WJW’s weekly investment committee meetings and provides advisors with regular updates on investment models, market trends, and portfolio positioning. He takes pride in breaking down complex investment topics into easier-to-understand concepts, helping both advisors and clients feel more informed and confident in the firm’s investment process.
For Bob, success often comes through teaching. He knows he is on the right track when advisors and clients share that something he wrote or explained helped them better understand a difficult topic. Over the years, writing has become one of the most meaningful parts of his career. Although clients may not have always seen his name attached, Bob has long contributed to the ideas, articles, newsletters, and communications that helped shape what clients read from the firm. That behind-the-scenes impact remains a point of pride for him.
Bob’s career at WJW has grown alongside the firm itself. In the early years, with a much smaller team, he wore many hats beyond investment research. He helped with trading, billing, account reconciliation, compliance, technology, presentation development, client communications, and other projects that supported the firm’s growth. Those experiences gave him a deep appreciation for the many moving parts involved in serving clients well.
Bob studied at Baylor University and Houston Baptist University and holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Finance. His financial services career began in investment management in 2000, and his industry experience has included investment research, trading, compliance, and portfolio management. He holds the Accredited Investment Fiduciary® designation.
Outside the office, Bob enjoys reading fiction with a good plot twist, trying new restaurants, sailing, watching college football, following the Astros, and catching soccer matches. He also enjoys finding new experiences and traveling with friends and family. Within the community, he has volunteered with organizations such as the Houston Food Bank and Kids’ Meals Inc., and he also serves as a mentor at WJW, helping early-career employees grow in their careers and in life.
Looking back, Bob is proud of the path that brought him to where he is today. From earning the rank of Eagle Scout, making the Texas All-State orchestra as a cellist, and playing varsity soccer at Memorial High School, to building a career centered on investments and client education, he feels fortunate to be doing the kind of work he once hoped he would find: helping people understand complex financial ideas in a way that feels clear, useful, and grounded in care.
