John Siegel, CFP®, EA

SR. WEALTH MANAGER

John Siegel serves as a Senior Wealth Manager at Willis Johnson Wealth, where he helps clients navigate complex financial decisions with greater clarity and confidence. Since joining the firm in 2018, John has specialized in comprehensive financial planning, guiding clients through both long-term strategies and the unexpected opportunities and challenges that arise throughout life.

John believes effective financial planning is built on what he calls the “Three C’s” — Context, Clarity, and Confidence. He takes time to deeply understand each client’s goals, motivations, and concerns so that financial decisions can be made within the broader context of their lives. Through this approach, clients gain a stronger understanding of their financial picture and greater confidence in both their decision-making and the planning process itself.

In his role, John leads comprehensive planning engagements and ongoing client reviews, while also working closely with prospective clients exploring the value of an integrated planning relationship. He is particularly passionate about helping clients feel supported during periods of transition and complexity. John measures success not simply by financial outcomes, but by the trust clients place in the relationship, the confidence they gain through planning, and the referrals they make to friends and colleagues.

John has more than 20 years of experience in financial planning and wealth management. Prior to joining Willis Johnson Wealth, he served as Vice President for a comprehensive financial planning firm and as Vice President and Wealth Strategist for a leading private bank. Earlier in his career, John worked extensively in estate and probate matters, serving as a case auditor for a Harris County probate court and as a paralegal for an estate planning and probate litigation firm. Those experiences provided him with a deep appreciation for the importance of thoughtful planning and the complexities families often face.

John earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Macalester College and completed the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® certification program through the Susanne M. Glasscock School at Rice University. He is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professional and an Enrolled Agent authorized to represent individuals before the IRS.

Beyond his client work, John contributes educational articles and video commentary focused on BP and Shell employee benefits and serves as a mentor to other professionals within the firm. He is also active in the community, serving on the finance committee of Main Street Theater and supporting financial leadership within his church community. John is a member of the Financial Planning Association, and he is a past president of the Planned Giving Council of Houston.

Outside the office, John and his wife enjoy Houston’s arts and cultural community, including performances, museum events, and time outdoors. He is an avid cyclist who enjoys exploring Houston’s parks and neighborhoods, a supporter of local park conservancies, and enjoys cooking alongside his wife and spending quiet time at home with their three cats.
